gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Toolroom Engineer to work at their facility based near Oakham.
Performance Objectives
- Competency in the use of an overhead crane to safely handle moulds weighing up to 6T.
- Ability to strip, clean, fit and reassemble mould tools.
- Competent in using all tool room hand tools and measuring equipment.
- Able to use toolroom manual machinery, lathes, milling machines, drills and grinding machines.
- Hot runner maintenance experience would be an advantage.
- Able to liaise with production staff regarding breakdown situations.
- Proactively deal with mould breakdowns.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks.
- Insert change mould tools when needed.
- Test mould functionality after repairs - water pressure / leak testing and electrical.
- Record works done in the daily logs and maintenance schedule.
- Report any spare parts needed to supervision.
- Keep the work area clean and tidy.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mindful of personal H+S whilst carrying out all tasks.
Person Specification
- Time served toolroom engineer / Toolmaker.
- Good attention to detail.
- Conversant with all tool room practices and machinery.
- Electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic experience would be an advantage.
- Team player but could work unsupervised when needed.
- Computer literate.
- Open to further training and ongoing development.
