A rapidly growing energy business is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Procurement to build and lead a new procurement division from the ground up. This is a pivotal leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape strategic procurement processes, systems, and supplier relationships at a time of significant expansion.

The Opportunity

As Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for establishing a centralised procurement function across a dynamic group operating in the energy and infrastructure sector. Working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams, you’ll design and implement procurement strategies that support long-term business growth, cost efficiency, and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish the procurement division, including systems, policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies across CAPEX, OPEX, professional services, and infrastructure.
  • Build a high-performing procurement team and lead on capability development.
  • Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing supplier relationship management.
  • Collaborate with project, legal, finance, operations, and technical teams to align procurement with business objectives.
  • Introduce robust controls to manage risk, improve transparency, and drive commercial value.
  • Monitor market trends and supply chain dynamics to anticipate challenges and optimise decision-making.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a senior procurement leadership role within energy, infrastructure, or a similarly complex, project-led environment.
  • Demonstrable experience setting up or transforming procurement functions.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Deep understanding of procurement governance, contract management, and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Degree qualified and/or CIPS accredited (or equivalent).
  • Must be based in or able to commute regularly to Bristol or London.
