Role Description
- Using Autodesk Inventor Professional.
- Produce mechanical designs from concept to production drawings in line with customer needs and business objectives.
- Work closely with suppliers, sub-contractors and customers from initial enquiry through to delivery.
- Participate in on-site surveys to determine design requirements and constraints with the project team and customer.
- Attend Design reviews to present ideas, effectively communicate project status & ensure timescales and budget requirements are achieved.
- Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure that design for manufacture & assembly has been adequately considered.
- Preparing Key Component and Parts lists – BOM’s.
- Responsible for delivering installation instructions for the equipment, design calculations, proposals & presentations.
- Provide expert input to ensure that the most economical & advantageous design strategy is adopted.
- Responsible for the purchasing of raw materials, components & equipment.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as required.
Qualifications
- HND/HNC/Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering preferable but not essential if experience is present.
- Must be experienced and knowledgeable with Inventor Professional 2D & 3D CAD.
- Experience with the automotive & food industry would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Bulk Materials Handling, Special Purpose Machinery, Steel Fabrication or Machining operations would be desirable.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics & motors would be advantageous.
- Experience of layout design.
- Previous exposure to working on different sized projects.
- Excellent level of technical understanding & organisation skills.
- Confident in communication both verbal and written.
- Proficient with using MS Office.
