Job Title: Electrical QS
Location: Manchester
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Reports To: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost plans, bills of quantities (BoQs), and tender documents for M&E packages.
- Manage procurement, including the preparation of tender and contract documentation.
- Conduct cost analysis, risk management, and value engineering exercises.
- Assess contractor and subcontractor valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Monitor project budgets and report on cost performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support project teams in contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
- Provide accurate cost forecasting and financial reporting to senior management.
- Ensure all works comply with Austrian and EU building and safety regulations.
- Collaborate closely with design, engineering, and project management teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with at least 2 years in M&E-focused roles.
- Proven experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, or data centre projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems.
- Familiarity with FIDIC, NEC, or other standard forms of contract.
- Excellent command of English; German proficiency is an advantage (or willingness to learn).
- Proficiency in cost management software (e.g. CostX, Cubit, Excel).
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
