Aubay is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to drive architectural initiatives within the Financial Services space. You will support project delivery by defining functional scoping and devising Information System (IS) level architecture solutions that emphasise consistency, adaptability, and sustainability. You will ensure compliance with the architecture governance framework and processes and provide expertise across a variety of technical and business projects. This role requires the successful candidate to be onsite in Solihull three days a week; this is a non-negotiable requirement.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Over 5 years of experience in an IT Architecture role, ideally within Financial Services or regulated environments.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively gather requirements and present solutions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and take architectural responsibility across different initiatives.
- Experience in architecting and developing .NET applications, with a good understanding of the relevant technologies.
- Expertise in working with Microsoft .NET applications, SQL Server, Kubernetes, Postgres, and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture methodologies such as TOGAF and ITIL.
- Experience working with both commercial off-the-shelf and bespoke solutions.
- Highly methodical, organised, and results-driven with great attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels, ensuring effective communication and decision-making.
Desired Skills:
- TOGAF Practitioner certification or equivalent certification in enterprise architecture.
- ITIL certification or equivalent knowledge of IT service management frameworks.
- Experience with architecture tools such as Orbus iServer and MS Visio.
- Proficiency in Domain Driven Design, Modelling (Relationships, topologies, Sequence Diagrams, UML, ArchiMate).
- Familiarity with Automation, testing, and development pipelines in an Agile and DevOps environment.
- Practical knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and evolve IS (Information System) architecture based on established architectural principles, ensuring consistency with company frameworks and strategic objectives.
- Design .NET and data solutions in collaboration with security and infrastructure stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business requirements and the overall IT strategy.
- Collaborate with project teams to define the functional scope and technical requirements of projects.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define and deliver technical roadmaps for IT solutions that support business strategy and objectives.
- Support project managers in creating project build plans and providing cost estimation for technical delivery.
- Assess and evaluate technology solutions, creating application and technology roadmaps that align with organisational goals.
- Support the development and implementation of the Enterprise Architecture capability, ensuring best practices and governance are followed.
- Engage with global teams to manage projects through the appropriate governance processes, ensuring compliance with necessary architectural standards.
- Prepare and assist with architecture briefs, ensuring consistency with the established governance and strategic framework.
- Participate in Research and Design phases to evaluate and propose emerging technologies that complement business strategy and IT roadmaps.
