The role of the Area Sales Manager – Natural Slate Roof Tiles will involve:

  • Field sales position, selling a manufactured range of predominantly slate roofing tiles, but also natural slate ventilated facades and natural slate solar panels
  • 50% of your time winning specifications with regional housebuilders, architects, quantity surveyors and other specifiers
  • 25% of your time new business development, stimulating demand with roofing contactors
  • 25% account managing and recruiting roofing merchants and builders merchants
  • Revenue responsibility of circa £3.5m
  • Following up on ABI leads
  • Projects can range in length from 6-18 months
  • Typically four and half days on the road visiting customers, half a day a week working from home (admin)
  • Searching and proposing new stockists and technical solutions adapted to customer needs
  • Managing and coordinating end-to-end projects from closing the deal to the on-site installation

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Natural Slate Roof Tiles with:

  • Field sales proven track record promoting construction materials or building products
  • Ideally in roofing or associated industry
  • Must have sold to contactors or builders merchants
  • Ideally some specification sales experience with regional housebuilders, architects, quantity surveyors or other specifiers
  • Stable career history/ no journey field sales people
  • Articulate with an ability to influence at multiple levels
  • Knowledge of natural stone materials is not essential
  • Dynamic and proactive approach
  • Stable career patch, no job hoppers

  • Excellent territory planning skills
