Our client is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Investment Associate to join a dynamic Energy Infrastructure team, supporting investments across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior investment professionals on transaction origination, execution, and asset management, with exposure to a wide variety of projects and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Analysis & Execution

  • Develop and maintain financial models to assess new investment opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and analysis, including reviewing third-party reports, primary research, and site visits.
  • Support due diligence processes in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Prepare internal documentation including screening and investment committee memos.
  • Review legal and financing documentation, identifying key transaction risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in deal structuring and closing processes.

Portfolio Management

  • Support the development and ongoing review of business plans for portfolio assets in coordination with sponsors, management teams, and partners.
  • Identify operational and financial risks in portfolio companies and propose actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in debt refinancing, operational initiatives, management recruitment, and exit planning.
  • Prepare quarterly portfolio updates and valuation reports for internal review.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work alongside global specialists in areas such as ESG and sector-focused teams.
  • Participate in cross-firm initiatives and strategic projects.

Candidate Profile

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Solid foundation in financial statement analysis, valuation methodologies, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capability in research and problem-solving.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3-4 years experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, or a similar transaction-oriented environment is preferred.
  • Infrastructure or Renewable Energy Investment exposure.
  • Familiarity with Central and Eastern European markets (either through lived or work experience).
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced qualifications (e.g., CFA, MBA) advantageous.
