Chief Financial Officer – Commodity Trading (Kindly note, our client will only consider candidates with prior commodity trading experience).

Salary: £150k - £200k + strong discretionary bonus

Location: central London

We are seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join a dynamic and fast-growing commodity trading business. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will play a central role in shaping financial strategy, enhancing risk management, and supporting the company’s continued expansion across global markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting activities
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury operations in a trading environment
  • Provide strategic insight to support trading decisions and business growth
  • Drive fundraising, debt structuring, and capital restructuring initiatives
  • Ensure robust regulatory compliance and best-in-class financial governance
  • Act as a key liaison with banks, investors, auditors, and external stakeholders

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as CFO or senior finance leader within a commodity trading firm
  • Strong understanding of trading P&L, risk, and funding structures
  • In-depth knowledge of exotic products and derivatives
  • Experience in banking or private equity, with a strong track record in fundraising and complex capital/debt structuring
  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership and board-level influence
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
