Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer
Location: London
Work Pattern: Hybrid (4 days in the office, 1 day from home)
Salary: up to £110,000 d.o.e
About the Role
My client, a renowned London-based investment firm, is seeking a Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join their highly collaborative tech team. You\’ll play a critical role in their ongoing migration from on-premises infrastructure to Azure Cloud, contributing to both day-to-day operations and long-term innovation.
As part of this dynamic team, you\’ll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and play a critical role in a high-impact migration project. You\’ll collaborate closely with experienced leaders, including the Head of Infrastructure and the CTO, learning from their expertise while contributing your own insights. This position offers not only exposure to advanced cloud and networking technologies but also the chance to take on leadership responsibilities during critical phases of the project, particularly when senior team members are unavailable.
This hybrid role combines a variety of responsibilities across networking and infrastructure, ensuring a diverse and engaging workload. You\’ll be involved in technical designs, supporting and configuring firewalls, and contributing to the strategic development of the firm\’s networking capabilities. Simultaneously, you\’ll manage and support on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure tasks, playing an integral part in ensuring the stability and efficiency of the company\’s IT systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the migration from on-premises infrastructure to Azure Cloud, supporting and managing cloud environments.
- Handle networking, Palo Alto firewalls, and more
- Utilise Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Use PowerShell to develop scripts and automate tasks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure technology solutions align with business objectives.
The Essentials:
- Strong technical expertise in Azure Cloud is essential
- Must have proficiency with Terraform for Infastructure as Code
- Proficient in Powershell scripts
- Excellent Networking skills
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls
- Background in financial services, hedge funds, or a similar environment
- Strong communication skills with a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
