Built Different is an innovative, fast-growing e-commerce apparel brand dedicated to plus size men.

We\’re currently seeking an experienced, hands-on Head of Operations to oversee daily operations, streamline efficiency, and manage logistics across our key markets.

About the role

As our Head of Operations, you will be responsible for the operational backbone of Built Different, ensuring smooth management of inventory, logistics, and relationships with our 3PL providers. You\’ll drive operational efficiency, reduce overhead costs, and solve day-to-day business challenges proactively.

Key responsibilities include:

• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accuracy, working closely with our freelance demand planner to ensure precise forecasting, purchasing, and inventory optimization.
• 3PL Relationship Management: Actively manage relationships with our UK and US-based 3PL partners, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.
• Operational Efficiency: Continuously seek and implement opportunities to reduce operating expenses, minimize logistics costs, and eliminate unnecessary spending.
• Manage Supplier Relationships: Make sure orders are being paid for, delivery times are met, and manage all supplier conversations and negotiations.
• Freight and Logistics: Manage freight processes effectively, ensuring optimal costs and streamlined shipping across markets.
• Shopify & E-commerce Management: Maintain strong operational alignment with our Shopify-based e-commerce systems, ensuring smooth integrations and daily operational success.
• Problem-Solving and Execution: Act as the primary problem solver for operational challenges, proactively identifying issues and providing practical solutions quickly and effectively.

About you

We\’re looking for a strategic yet hands-on operations leader who enjoys getting involved in daily operations, solving problems, and driving tangible improvements across logistics, inventory, and overall business efficiency.

Key skills and experience:

• Proven experience managing inventory, logistics, and 3PL relationships, particularly in apparel e-commerce.
• Demonstrable expertise in optimizing logistics, freight management, and significantly reducing operating expenses.
• Great at working with overseas suppliers.
• Experienced in working with demand planners to accurately forecast inventory needs and manage purchasing processes.
• Deep understanding and operational experience with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms.
• Comfortable with hands-on execution and able to quickly solve operational problems as they arise.
• Strong track record of successfully managing operations in businesses with multi-market footprints, particularly across the US, UK, and Europe.
