Job purpose - Major duties and responsibilities of the job:
The Architecture practice establishes and maintains the architectural framework to support the technology strategy within which IT solutions can be delivered. It is responsible for ensuring continues to deliver reliable, resilient, cost-beneficial business service solutions (current, planned and speculated) through the formulation of the enterprise strategy and architecture framework for the IT Systems, underpinned by the technical governance and compliance of IT Systems designs.
To act as a Solutions Architect on a variety of internal and external IT delivery projects, key responsibilities include:
- Produce high-quality High Level Design documentation describing technical systems solutions, providing overall design direction and recommendations for resolution of complex technical issues.
- Analyse existing design documents, produce presentations to the Architect team with options and reasoning and later proceed with design documents.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to the IT engineering, delivery and test teams throughout implementation phases.
- Support the Enterprise Architects in the development of infrastructure road maps to support the evolution of the technical and digital portfolios from current to future state.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Experience designing, documenting, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutions.
- Solid understanding and design capability across multiple infrastructure domains such as networks, compute, storage, database, backups, virtualization, cloud, data center, collaboration, and end user.
- Technical knowledge across several infrastructure disciplines e.g., SCCM, Citrix, VMWare, ESX, vSphere, LAN/WAN/MAN, Routing, Firewall, Wireless, IDS/IPS, WAN optimization, Proxy, VPN services, and IT Security.
Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following personal characteristics:
- Proactive self-starter able to learn quickly and work/deliver independently.
- Be able to multi-task as several projects and initiatives may be active at the same time.
- Possess strong interpersonal and influencing skills with good stakeholder management, both internal and external.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.

- Ability to work on complex projects with globally distributed teams and tight timelines.
Qualifications / certifications:
- Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant IT Architecture certification (TOGAF, CITA, RHCA etc.) or technical accreditations (M365, VMWare, or Cisco) beneficial.
