The Role
Land and Planning (L&P) works alongside our other functions to ensure they have a coordinated approach on key issues such as emerging planning policy. They also advise Board on risks and opportunities to help inform strategies, such as proposals to introduce biodiversity net gain, planning viability and design guidance introduced by MHCLG. The Head Office team support their regional Land and Planning teams in developing their skills and expertise. This includes providing guidance and training on emerging policy and best practices, supporting planning appeals, enforcement issues, strategy for major sites including affordable housing, and working through technical planning issues and community engagement.
You will have the opportunity to rotate across various Business Units (BUs) within your division. This rotation is designed to maximize your exposure to a diverse array of projects, enhancing your understanding of our operations and strategic objectives.
In addition to the inter-divisional rotations, you will also spend time within our Group Central Function. This allows you to collaborate closely with senior team members, gaining invaluable insights and mentorship from experienced professionals.
Furthermore, you will be enrolled in our tailored development scheme. This scheme is not just about honing your skills in your chosen field of expertise; it’s about fostering holistic professional growth. You’ll engage in activities that develop your leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, ensuring you emerge as a well-rounded professional equipped to tackle the challenges of your role.
Requirements
- A 2:1 degree or higher in a RICS- or RTPI-accredited course in planning or surveying, OR strong A-Level results with a demonstrated passion for the Land & Planning industry (Required)
- Full driving license and access to a car (Desired)
- Willingness to travel around the UK and are happy to stay away from home for short periods of time
- Ability to find innovative and creative solutions to solve problems
- Willingness to challenge the norm
