Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering with a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing business in Sheffield to support the growth of their engineering team with the addition of a CAD/CAM Programmer. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Take ownership of the manufacturing process from concept through to production
- Lead and manage multiple engineering projects and provide early risk identification
- Represent Engineering in daily operations meetings and drive actionable solutions
- Provide cost estimates and technical input for quotations
- Use CAM software (Hypermill, MasterCam) to program multi-axis CNC machines
- Design fixtures and tooling using CAD software (ideally Siemens NX)
- Create in-process documentation and ensure technical accuracy of prints
- Continuously improve machining processes to reduce cycle times and costs
- Troubleshoot production issues using 8D or DMAIC methodologies
- Work cross-functionally with Quality, Planning, Production, and Customer teams
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong CNC programming and machining background
- CAM software experience: Hypermill, Mastercam, or Vericut
- CAD design experience, preferably Siemens NX
- Proficient in GD&T and interpreting technical drawings
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
- Confident using ERP systems (BOMs, routings, item masters)
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Desirable:
- Industry experience in aerospace and/or orthopaedics
- Knowledge of process capability and measurement systems
- Skilled in cost estimating and project tracking
Qualifications:
- Time-served apprenticeship or degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering
- 5+ years in a similar role
