This role is part of the leadership team for our Audiences and Commercial division (A&C), which includes creative studios, content, production, broadcast, marketing, communications, digital product, and commercial teams. A&C's mission is to grow and diversify our audiences, find new ways to tell our stories, and drive brand reappraisal to ensure financial sustainability for the RBO.
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary creative leader who can ensure all creative assets are highly engaging and effective, and who will serve as the guardian of our brand—especially as we evolve our brand identity (transitioning from Royal Opera House to Royal Ballet and Opera in 2024). This leader will oversee our creative studio (content, imagery, graphic design, and AV) to deliver inspiring and innovative solutions that support our mission.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, exceptional relationship-building skills, and credibility as a creative leader. Key skills and experience include:
- Strong background as an Art Director, including key art and design, preferably in theatre or entertainment.
- Proven experience managing content and creative production within a creative agency, internal studio, or design environment, working with leading brands.
- Ability to develop and communicate an ambitious creative vision and translate it into briefs for a large, multidisciplinary team of creatives.
- Deep understanding of creative best practices for paid media across all channels.
- Experience leading a large (20+ members) multi-disciplinary creative team, ensuring delivery within budget, timelines, and commercial objectives.
- Visionary leadership and a positive, change-oriented mindset.
