Senior Credit Risk Manager – Wholesale

Location: London | Hybrid | Full-Time | Material Risk Taker Role

A growing UK specialist lender is looking for an experienced Senior Credit Risk Manager to join its second line of defence team, focusing on its Wholesale Finance portfolio. This role has a particular emphasis on Funds Finance, including NAV, Subscription Line, and Fee-based lending structures, with exposure to Structured Finance and Block Discounting.

This is a high-profile position with delegated lending authority, offering the opportunity to shape credit policy, oversee portfolio risk, and work closely with senior leadership across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, approve, and challenge complex credit proposals in the Wholesale sector.
• Provide risk insights and guidance to underwriting and relationship teams.
• Draft and present credit papers to senior-level credit committees.
• Lead monitoring and reporting of counterparty and portfolio-level credit risks.
• Contribute to credit risk frameworks, policy development, and regulatory compliance.

Candidate Profile

• Significant credit risk experience, particularly in Funds Finance.
• Strong understanding of structured lending solutions and financial markets.
• Demonstrated ability to operate with personal sanctioning authority.
• Analytical, commercially minded, and regulatory aware.
• Ideally degree-qualified with a relevant professional accreditation (e.g. ACIB).
