The Role
We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading UK construction group for a Senior Estimator to join their Property Services division, based in Warrington. This team delivers both residential and commercial projects — from large-scale refurbishments to planned maintenance and regeneration schemes.
As Senior Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing detailed and competitive cost estimates to support tender submissions. You’ll work closely with the pre-construction and commercial teams, helping the business win work across a broad range of projects within the built environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing accurate cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Leading the pricing process for refurbishment, maintenance, and regeneration works across residential and commercial properties
- Collaborating with internal departments to ensure tender submissions are technically sound and commercially competitive
- Engaging with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to build relationships and gather accurate cost data
- Presenting tender cost breakdowns and participating in settlement meetings
- Supporting smooth project handovers from pre-construction to delivery teams
- Monitoring current market rates, labour costs, and material prices to ensure cost accuracy
- Identifying and managing risks and opportunities within bids
- Helping to improve internal estimating tools, systems, and procedures
What You’ll Bring
- At least 5 years’ experience working as an Estimator within the construction, property services, or social housing sectors
- A strong background in refurbishment, maintenance, or regeneration projects (residential or commercial)
- Familiarity with NEC and JCT contract forms
- The ability to take off from drawings and produce Bills of Quantities
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills
- Confidence working with subcontractors and supply chain partners
- Strong communication and time management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
- A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
