About Us: We are a technology led organisation who provide exceptional service to homes across the UK. Using our relationships with AWS & Microsoft, we are constantly evolving the way we support our customers through the use of bleeding edge technology. We are currently in the midst of a number of greenfield projects based on our 2025 strategic initiatives and we are looking to hire a hands-on Software Engineer Manager with experience of C# & React to join one of our remote development pods.

The Role: As a Software Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions. This position is ideal for an experienced Developer who has a passion for helping others improve and progress their careers whilst staying close to the code base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a productive and innovative development environment
  • Oversee the development process to produce reliable and efficient software solutions
  • Lead on process and creation of technical solution design and documentation to support delivery of development projects
  • Design, develop, and maintain highly secure web applications using C# .Net
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define, plan, and implement new features and enhancements
  • Optimize application performance, ensuring responsiveness and scalability
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code while adhering to best practices
  • Perform code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues across the stack
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions

Requirements:

  • Experience building secure web applications using .Net technologies, including C#, ASP.Net, and Web API development
  • Proven experience of or desire to lead a small team of experienced developers
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and ORMs (e.g., Entity Framework)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and CI/CD pipelines

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX)
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Exposure to testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, NUnit) and test-driven development (TDD)
