I'm currently working with a very established commodity focused investment management company based in London Looking for an Oil Derivatives Trader.

Type: Full time, permanent

MUST HAVE MARKET MAKING EXPERIENCE

Location: Central London, hybrid working available

Salary: Up to £130,000 – £170,000 + Bonus DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Execute trades in oil derivatives, including futures, options, and swaps, ensuring optimal execution and risk management.
  • Develop and implement trading strategies to capitalize on market opportunities within the oil derivatives space.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, news, and economic data to inform trading decisions.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with brokers, exchanges, and other market participants to ensure access to liquidity and market intelligence.
  • Collaborate with the risk management team to manage and mitigate trading risks effectively.
  • Utilize quantitative models and technical analysis to enhance trading performance and profitability.
  • Prepare regular reports and analysis on trading performance, market conditions, and strategy outcomes.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and ensure compliance with all relevant trading regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in trading oil derivatives, preferably within a market maker environment.
  • Strong understanding of oil markets, derivative products, and trading strategies.
  • Proven track record of profitable trading and risk management.
  • Proficiency in trading platforms and software commonly used in the industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to quickly interpret market data and trends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
