One of our well-established clients is seeking an experienced Head of Asset Finance with a sales background to lead a high-performing, rapidly growing department. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of asset finance products such as leasing, hire purchase, asset refinancing, and structured finance, along with expertise in both hard and soft asset financing, including heavy machinery, commercial vehicles, technology assets, and the fit-out industry.

Skills and Experience:
- Extensive Asset Finance Expertise: In-depth knowledge of asset finance products (leasing, hire purchase, operating leases, and refinancing), including the structuring of complex deals and asset valuation techniques.
- Cross-Sector Knowledge: Experience working with a wide range of assets, including hard assets (commercial vehicles, machinery, industrial equipment) and soft assets (IT equipment, office technology, software).
- Sales Leadership & Strategy Development: Proven experience in building and leading successful sales teams within the asset finance industry, driving consistent performance through strategic planning.
- Risk Management & Analytical Skills: Strong understanding of credit analysis, risk management, and asset depreciation models, ensuring that deals are structured in line with business objectives.
- Vendor and Lender Relationships: Established a network with vendors, manufacturers, and lenders, allowing for effective partnership-building and negotiation of favorable finance terms.
- Regulatory & Market Knowledge: Familiarity with asset finance regulations, FCA guidelines, IFRS 16 (lease accounting), and other relevant compliance factors. Knowledge of commercial mortgage products is a plus.
- Business Development: Track record of identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities within the asset finance sector, expanding into new markets and sectors such as renewable energy, construction, and logistics.
- Team Leadership: Experience in developing talent within a sales and finance environment, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and team performance management.
