Head of Engineering - Finance (London)

At On, the most exciting and fastest-growing global sports brand, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Engineering, Finance to lead our hybrid team of Microsoft Dynamics 365 engineers and backend engineers.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) and a deep understanding of financial processes. This role involves leveraging D365 F&O to drive financial operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and enhance overall business performance within the finance domain.

This position is responsible for providing technical leadership for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our Finance Technology solutions and D365 F&O systems within the finance function. Your entrepreneurial and result-driven mindset, combined with strong technical oversight and execution skills, will make you a key member of On’s future.

Your Mission

• Craft and deliver a technical vision and strategy for Finance Technology services and D365 F&O environment, aligned with On’s financial objectives.
• Drive technical excellence and reliability of our Finance Technology services through key metrics, proactive monitoring, and fostering continuous improvement.
• Lead and mentor a team of backend and Microsoft Dynamics 365 engineers, providing guidance, architectural oversight, and support for their growth.
• Set performance goals, provide feedback, and promote ongoing technical development.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Champion the use of Microsoft Dynamics F&O to improve financial processes, efficiency, and automation with robust technical solutions.
• Partner with finance stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into technical designs, and contribute to architecture and roadmap planning.
• Oversee system upgrades, patches, customizations, and integrations, ensuring adherence to standards and minimal disruption.
• Implement best practices for service and D365 F&O development, configuration, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with the broader technology organization for seamless integration with other enterprise systems.
• Evaluate and recommend solutions, tools, and methodologies to optimize D365 F&O environment for finance.

Your Story

• Experience in providing technical leadership, especially within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ecosystem, is a plus.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• High emotional intelligence, empathy, and relationship-building skills.
• Exceptional communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly to finance audiences.
• Understanding of core finance and accounting processes and their technical implementation.
