The service aims to prevent and maintain the wellbeing of the people we support, as we provide service users access to one-to-one support in the hub and out in the community. In addition to this, we also offer a timetable of wellbeing activities, mental health management sessions, and social opportunities through our network of community-based groups.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic volunteer to help run an Arts and Crafts group at our Dudley hub. At the moment, the group meets to create arts and crafts around specific events such as Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, etc., and we would like to move towards a consistent weekly session.

The role includes:

  • Discussing with the group and deciding what types of arts and crafts they would like to try.
  • Planning the sessions and preparing materials and equipment.
  • Ensuring that the arts and crafts are accessible for the group and making adjustments when needed.
  • Making refreshments for the group and tidying away all materials and equipment at the end of each session, making sure the room is left clean and tidy.
  • Setting up for the activity, moving tables and chairs if necessary.
  • Delivering the activity.
  • Coming up with ideas for new sessions.
  • Clearing away at the end of the session.
  • Helping to promote the sessions to service users.
  • Preparing refreshments.
  • Attending regular supervisions with your Volunteer Supervisor.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and skilled in different types of arts and crafts. This could include painting, drawing, knitting, crochet, embroidery, weaving, macramΓ©, sewing, paper-based crafts, felting, colouring, and many more. It would be great if the group could work towards projects together and gain a sense of achievement from the new skills they have learnt.
