The Role and Candidate
We are seeking a results-driven Go-to-Market Executive to lead POP MART’s expansion across European markets. This role focuses on executing new store openings by managing site readiness, merchandise logistics, construction projects, as well as coordinating manpower planning, marketing activities for successful launches. The ideal candidate will play a key role in fostering partnerships, driving operational excellence, and optimising performance to support the company’s growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Execute detailed go-to-market strategies for European markets, ensuring alignment with Pop Mart International’s objectives
- Perform market research to identify opportunities, assess competitor activities, and understand consumer preferences
- Oversee all aspects of new store openings, ensuring site readiness, timely local arrival of merchandise through efficient logistics, proper stock allocation, and compliance with local regulations, with a focus on seamless execution alongside merchandising and operations teams
- Manage construction projects for new retail spaces, working with the construction team to oversee design, installation, fixtures, and furniture to ensure projects are completed on time and meet brand standards
- Partner with HR and marketing teams to coordinate recruitment, onboarding, training, and launch campaigns, including in-store events and promotions
- Manage relationships and communication with distributors, retailers, and partners to support day-to-day operations and new market initiatives
- Analyse sales, stock performance, and operational metrics, providing insights and recommendations to optimise store performance and retail strategies
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align activities, resolve challenges, and maintain operational excellence
- Address operational challenges in real-time to ensure the success of new stores and ongoing market initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, International Business, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in market development, preferably in consumer goods or retail sectors
- Strong understanding of market entry strategies and international business expansion
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple market initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
- Advanced data analysis skills
- Multilingual capabilities preferred (English essential, additional European languages a plus)
Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience in the toy industry or pop culture retail sector
- Familiarity with European retail landscapes
- Understanding of designer toy and collectible trends, particularly in the art toy market
