Butler Ross are currently supporting a defence organisation who are looking to recruit a permanent Commercial Director, operating on a hybrid-working basis (3-days in office, 2-days from home: Bournemouth Area). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior commercial figure, looking to combine a complex hands-on commercial role with team-leadership responsibilities.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing a high-performing team of experienced commercial professionals
- Handling negotiations with customers, both new and existing, to secure contracts
- Supporting bids and proposals as a key member of the team, aligning commercial strategies with programme delivery goals
- Managing contract obligations and proactively resolving commercial issues during live programmes
- Advising senior stakeholders on varying complex commercial issues; including presenting to board-level
You will bring to the team:
- Proven leadership and team-management capability
- Very strong negotiation, drafting, and contract management expertise
- Prior commercial experience within the Defence sector; ideally including knowledge of defence procurement frameworks and prior MOD experience (MOD or supplier / contractor side)
