We are currently seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join our team on a day shift. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inspection using hand tools such as micrometers and verniers, and be confident in handling associated documentation including FAIRs and PPAPs. This is a great opportunity to join a stable and growing manufacturing business with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process and final inspection of precision components.
- Use a variety of measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 standards.
- Prepare and compile PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records and documentation.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
- Report and document non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis.
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proficient in using precision measurement tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.).
- Good understanding of FAIRs and PPAP requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience working to ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 standards.
- Background in aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors.
