The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
We are seeking an Experienced Social Worker to work in our North team. Working closely with the Team Manager, you will provide professional leadership and supervision to colleagues, support your manager with the day-to-day operations of the team and provide an efficient and effective service to children and young people in our care.
This is a hands-on role, where you have a smaller caseload, working with children and families with a complexity of needs (including undertaking in-depth assessments) and where, through supervision and mentoring, you will share your knowledge and experience with colleagues and students to continually improve practice standards within your team.
You will model high standards of professional social work practice and will be used to working at pace, within a high pressurised environment. You will provide good quality assessments to ensure improved consistent outcomes for our children and young people, with no drift or delay for families.
Your skills and experience will include:
- A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
- Substantial post-qualifying experience, training and development, demonstrating that you are working at an Advanced Social Worker level
- Experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children's social work.
- Good recording and planning skills
- Be able to lead improvement and challenge the quality of social care practice in a constructive manner
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a car
Social Workers need to be available to cover their allocations and visit children as necessary to meet service needs. There may be occasions when home-working will be permitted which can be discussed at interview.
