We are looking for an experienced Bid Engineer to join our team in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity offering clear career progression to Bid Manager.
You will play a key role in managing and delivering competitive bids, tenders, and proposals for low-voltage (LV) electrical projects. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will help us secure new contracts and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead bid submissions – manage the full bid lifecycle, including technical queries, document preparation, and deadline tracking.
- Prepare PQQs and tenders – ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client requirements.
- Develop commercial proposals – create costed bids with input from engineering, procurement, and commercial teams.
- Support sales – assist in building strong client proposals and identifying opportunities.
- Collaborate with teams – work cross-functionally to improve competitiveness and efficiency.
- Manage risk & compliance – ensure proposals meet health & safety, legal, and company standards.
- Build relationships – liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to support successful bids.
- Maintain records – keep accurate logs of bid activity, versions, and communications.
- Drive improvements – contribute to better bid processes and higher win rates.
Requirements:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- Strong understanding of LV Electrical
- Background in project-based environments
- Proven experience in bids, tenders, or proposals
- Excellent communication and document writing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel & Word)
- Strong attention to detail and organisation
- Proactive and problem-solving mindset
