Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks & S278 Location: Nationwide Travel (Office / Site-Based) Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 + Company Car + Fuel Card + Lodging Covered + Commission + Full Benefits Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in groundworks and S278 packages? About the Company Our client is a specialist in groundworks and civil infrastructure, known for delivering complex S278 and enabling works for residential, commercial, and industrial developments. With a strong pipeline of secured projects, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with a dynamic and business-savvy Quantity Surveyor. Role Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for managing commercial aspects of multiple live projects, building strong client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. This is a client-facing role, requiring regular nationwide travel and a proactive, confident approach. Key Responsibilities Oversee commercial management of groundworks and S278 contracts Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth delivery Identify and develop new business opportunities (commission paid on secured work) Prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts Maintain cost control, forecasting, and budgeting Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions Travel to project sites across the UK – all lodging paid What We’re Looking For Essential: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within groundworks and/or S278 Strong commercial acumen and contract knowledge Excellent client-facing and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and travel nationwide Full UK driving licence Desirable: Experience with both private developers and main contractors Knowledge of NEC or JCT contract frameworks Business development or account management experience What’s On Offer Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 (DOE) Company Car + Fuel Card Fully Funded Lodging for Travel Commission on new business introduced Pension Scheme 28 Days Annual Leave Supportive team culture with long-term career prospects Looking to take your QS career to the next level with a contractor that values performance and initiative?
