Senior Designer / Architect – Residential Projects 📍 Chelmsford, UK (Commutable distance required) The client is an award-winning architectural practice renowned for delivering high-quality, large-scale residential and masterplanning projects across the UK. They are expanding the Chelmsford HQ team and are looking to appoint a Senior Designer / Architect with the experience, drive, and ambition to help deliver key planning applications for national housebuilders. The Role: You’ll take a leading role in the design and planning of residential-led schemes, typically ranging from 100 to 500 homes. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking studio working on some of the UK’s most exciting low-rise housing developments. What We’re Looking For: ✅ 10+ years\’ experience in UK residential masterplanning ✅ A proven track record delivering planning applications for national housebuilders ✅ Strong portfolio demonstrating work on low-rise developments (100–500 units) ✅ Experience with land promoters, developers, and local planning authorities ✅ Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office ✅ A solid understanding of UK building regulations and planning legislation ✅ Degree-qualified in Architecture (or equivalent) ✅ Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude What We Offer: * Competitive salary, benchmarked on experience * 4 days in the Chelmsford office / 1 day remote * 23 days holiday + Christmas shutdown (2–3 days) + bank holidays * Private health care * Pension scheme * Payment of key professional subscription fees Important: UK-based applicants only.
