About the Role
HBG Recruitment are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Contract Manager to lead and manage a portfolio of ground investigation projects across the UK. Based from the Durham office, you'll be responsible for ensuring that all contracts are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end management of multiple ground investigation contracts
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with client specifications, regulatory standards, and company procedures
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong and lasting relationships
- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting
- Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, and technical staff to ensure effective project delivery
- Monitor contract performance, productivity, and health & safety compliance across all sites
- Identify and manage risks, resolving issues quickly to avoid disruption or non-compliance
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality assurance and effective project management
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contract Manager or Project Manager within ground investigations, geotechnical engineering, or a related field
- Strong understanding of ground investigation techniques, health & safety legislation, and industry best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, teams, and client expectations effectively
- Relevant qualifications in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or construction management (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
