Position Type: Full-Time

About the Role: This is a brand-new position within an exciting, fast-growing business. As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's H&S policies and processes. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with health & safety, while driving initiatives that promote a culture of safety and sustainability across the organization. You will ensure the organization operates in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk, fire risk, and workplace assessments.
  • Create method statements and COSHH assessments.
  • Develop 'Safe Working' procedures and provide internal training.
  • Oversee internal accident and RIDDOR reporting, conducting investigations when necessary.
  • Organize and lead Health and Safety committee meetings.
  • Source and manage safety equipment and PPE for the site.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe workplace for all employees and stakeholders.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong background in manufacturing and warehousing environments.
  • Familiarity with MRP and Just-in-Time principles.
  • Experience working in or supporting operations in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills across teams.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Skilled in interpreting and maintaining structured data for projects and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH certification in Health, Safety & Environment or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, including ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety).
  • Proven experience in Health & Safety management roles.
