We are recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a major new facility in its commissioning phase. This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a high-performing team at a newly constructed site that will be operational by mid-2025.
This role offers the chance to make a lasting impact, with access to brand-new systems, equipment still under warranty, and significant scope for long-term development and progression.
Your Role:
- Delivering planned, preventative, and reactive mechanical maintenance across the entire site.
- Supporting the commissioning, shutdown, and optimisation of systems.
- Working closely with equipment suppliers and third-party contractors.
- Assisting in the development and mentoring of apprentices and junior technicians.
Equipment & Systems You’ll Work On:
- Large mechanical plant systems
- Pumps, valves, and hydraulics
- Pneumatics and alignment tools
- Power transmission and rotating machinery
What You’ll Need:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (or significant relevant experience).
- Strong background in heavy engineering environments (e.g. large plant, utilities, forces, power, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a 24/7 team operation (Mon–Fri with on-call rotation).
- Comfortable working with OEM partners and adapting to evolving site operations.
What’s On Offer:
- Base Salary: £45,000 – £50,000
- On-call Allowance: +6%
- Annual Performance Bonus: Up to 2.5%
- Holidays: 25 days, increasing to 31 with service + your birthday off
- Pension: Up to 9% matched (1.5x employee contribution)
