A London local authority is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join its Property Team on a part-time interim basis. This strategic role will serve as the lead for a sub-portfolio within the Council’s estate, working closely with service leads to ensure that assets are managed effectively for long-term value and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the strategic lead for all assets within an assigned sub-portfolio.
  • Provide professional property advice across the council estate, with a focus on Adult Social Care and Education services.
  • Lead on the disposal of surplus assets and manage all associated property matters.
  • Implement whole life asset management strategies, covering acquisition, lease events, management, and disposal.
  • Develop and implement long-term investment plans, portfolio strategies, and workplace rationalisation.
  • Work in partnership with service leads to deliver value-driven solutions and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety and property legislation.

Essential Requirements:

  • RICS Chartered Surveyor status.
  • Strong experience in local government property services, with direct work alongside Adult Social Care and Education teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic asset and estate management.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse property portfolio.
