Deputy Finance Manager / Finance Team Leader 📍 Location: Coulsdon, Surrey 💼 Full-time | Permanent About the Role We’re looking for a Deputy Finance Manager to support the Head of Finance and oversee a busy team covering purchase ledger, sales ledger, and settlements. This role would suit someone currently working as an Assistant Finance Manager, Finance Supervisor, or Accounts Team Leader who’s ready to step up into a broader leadership position. You’ll have the chance to get involved in management accounts, reconciliations, VAT, payroll journals, and reporting, while also helping to shape and guide the wider finance team. What You’ll Be Doing * Assisting with the day-to-day management of the Finance team (payables, receivables, settlements). * Overseeing purchase ledger processes — payments, invoice coding, reconciliations, and ensuring supplier terms are met. * Providing support with international payments. * Reviewing daily withdrawal reports and liaising with senior leadership where needed. * Managing sales ledger/receivables — customer receipts, refunds, escalated complaints. * Approving company settlements in a timely and accurate manner. * Carrying out reconciliations — Trust Withdrawals, incentive schemes, matured plans, nominal ledger, and payroll journals. * VAT and PAYE/Dividend processes, including urgent refunds. * CRM data reporting and solvency checks. What We’re Looking For * Previous experience in a commercial finance environment (SME background preferred). * Proven experience in accounts management, credit control, or financial operations. * International client exposure would be an advantage. * Confident user of Sage (essential). * Strong IT skills (Excel, reporting systems). * AAT qualified (or final year of study). * Excellent communicator, customer-focused, with a clear and professional phone manner. * Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
