About the Company: We are a well-established manufacturing business based in Corby, specialising in the production of precision metal components for a wide range of industries. With a focus on reliability, safety, and efficiency, we operate in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
The Role: We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our small but dedicated maintenance team. This role is critical to the smooth operation of our production lines, combining scheduled preventative maintenance with rapid response to breakdowns. The successful candidate will be confident diagnosing faults and implementing practical, long-term solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
- Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns.
- Maintain and repair equipment including hydraulic systems, CNC machines, extrusion lines, and slitting machinery.
- Accurately document maintenance activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and maintain operational targets.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures and standards.
Requirements:
- Experience as a mechanical maintenance engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems, and ideally, experience with slitting, extrusion, or CNC machinery.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Desirable:
- Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
Working Hours (2-Week Rotating Shift Pattern):
- Week 1:
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Friday: 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Monday to Wednesday: 2:00 PM – Midnight
- Thursday: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Friday: Off
Salary & Benefits:
- £38,000 – £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- £560 annual shift allowance
- £4,000 – £6,000 annual bonus (based on business performance)
