We are looking for a General Farm Worker for a 1500-acre estate in Wiltshire. Duties would include; Tractor Work • Shakerating • Disking • Rolling • Spring Tyne work for seed bed prep • Grass Rolling • Chain Harrowing • Corn Carting – Harvest • Carting Fertiliser and loading the spreader • Loading the grain lorry • Carting horse muck • Splitting logs • Topping You would also be required to do livery yard jobs to include dropping hay and straw supplies to the yard and maintenance work for the upkeep of electric fencing, water lines and stable blocks. General farm work to maintain machinery, greasing of equipment and tractors, blowing down combine as well as helping to maintain the drill, sprayer, spreader and combine. Rouging to work through the wheat, barley and pea crops multiple times at both farms. This role will also include estate work to include; • Knapsacking around the whole farm • Fencing • Repair farm tracks and buildings • Upkeep of hedges and grass margins in line with environmental agreements • Strimming You will be expected to clean and help to insecticide grain stores and dryer building and be responsible for the maintenance of the dryer and grain stores. The role would also include in some work to maintain and help to care for the lakes such as assisting in netting the lakes, tree work on and around the lakes and fencing work.
