CNC Service Engineer - Field Based

Field Service Engineer – CNC Machine Tools We’re looking for a highly skilled field service engineer to join a leading name in the CNC machine tool sector. This role is primarily focused on machine installation and commissioning, ensuring customers experience a seamless setup and optimal machine performance. You\’ll also provide ongoing service and maintenance support, helping to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency. If you have a strong mechanical and electrical background, experience working with CNC or industrial machinery, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently, this could be a great opportunity. Key responsibilities Install and commission CNC machine tools at customer sites, ensuring full functionality and compliance with specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues during installation and in-service calls. Provide operator training and technical guidance, ensuring customers can effectively use and maintain their machines. Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan and reduce unexpected breakdowns. Collaborate with internal teams to optimise installation processes and improve overall service efficiency. What’s on offer £45,000 – £53,000 per annum (depending on experience) Company vehicle (BMW) and all necessary tools provided Ongoing manufacturer training to stay up to date with the latest technology Clear progression path into senior technical or leadership roles What we’re looking for Proven experience in field service, installation, or commissioning of CNC machine tools or complex industrial equipment. Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, including servo drives, PLCs, and control systems. Ability to work autonomously, manage workloads efficiently, and build strong customer relationships. Willingness to travel within the designated region with occasional overnight stays.
