My client is currently looking to hire a dedicated and reliable Flexographic Printer on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an ideal position for someone eager to develop their skills and grow within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Role Overview: The main responsibility of this role is to efficiently operate the flexographic printing press daily, ensuring it is fully utilised to produce high-quality printed paper that supports straw production. Training will be provided, covering all aspects of the job including:
- Selecting the correct inks and printing plates based on job specifications
- Mounting printing plates onto appropriately sized cylinders and loading them into the press in the correct colour sequence
- Filling ink fonts with the required inks in the proper order
- Engaging and adjusting ink rollers to print one or more colours without defects
- Loading plain reels and unloading printed reels as specified
- Checking print quality and accuracy, running the press at optimal speed while maintaining tension and quality
- Cleaning plates, cylinders, and ink fonts regularly, especially after print runs, to prevent contamination
- Mixing inks to achieve desired colours and maintaining the right solvent-to-ink ratios for optimal printing
- Continuously monitoring printed samples for colour consistency and overall quality throughout the run

The salary is £33,000 basic plus shift allowance as outlined below.
For the first three months, the role will follow a continental shift pattern:
- Week 1: 2 days on / 2 days off / 3 days on
- Week 2: 2 days off / 2 days on / 3 days off
During this period, a 35% shift allowance will apply. After the initial three months, the shift pattern will be reviewed. If it changes to a three-shift rotation (Days: 6am-2pm, Afternoons: 2pm-10pm, Nights: 10pm-6am), the shift allowance will adjust to 15%.
