Located: Fakenham, Norfolk

Shift pattern: 14:00-22:30 Mon-Fri & 06:00-12:00 every 3rd Saturday

Reports to (Direct): Engineering Manager/Senior

Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum

Role responsibilities and summary:

  • Ensure all PPM activities are completed on time as required, feeding back information to the Senior Engineer to improve the PPM system and activities.
  • Work closely with the Engineer on the opposite shift to ensure all handover of ongoing activities is carried out every day, sharing all other information and practices as required.
  • Provide knowledge and input into continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities.
  • Work with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to identify long running problems and suitable solutions.
  • Look to improve equipment performance, reliability, and running costs for replacement parts and consumables as part of the Maintenance engineering team.
  • Undertake repairs to equipment in a safe and timely manner ensuring that Production is constantly updated on progress.
  • Undertake remedial engineering works to equipment or site as instructed by the Engineering Manager.
  • Communicate any risks of safety or failure of equipment or site to the Manager.
  • Ensure contractors are working safely on site and adhering to site Health and Safety rules and procedures.
  • Carry out all activities in accordance with the Site Health and Safety instructions and the SSG Health and Safety manual, as well as in accordance with relevant engineering standards.
  • Report any incidents, accidents and near misses in accordance with Health and Safety Policies.
  • Ensure that equipment provided for the protection of health and safety is maintained and used appropriately, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Adhere to safe systems of work and best practice procedures.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure the Company’s disciplines, rules and standards are maintained.
  • Maintain company assets to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain excellent communication between Production staff and co-workers.

  • Preferred knowledge of other engineering disciplines including pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems.
