A fantastic client of ours in Newmarket is seeking a Multi Skilled Facilities Engineer to join their growing team. You'll play a key role in maintaining and repairing a range of electrical and mechanical systems across the estate - supporting smooth operations, safety, and ongoing improvement.
You'll work closely with the Maintenance & Installation team to carry out both reactive and planned maintenance across a varied and interesting estate. From HVAC systems to boilers, pumps, and generators, this is a dynamic role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working to high standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out inspections, repairs, and maintenance on all building systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life
- Respond promptly to emergency callouts to minimise downtime
- Liaise with contractors and oversee installations or upgrades
- Keep clear and accurate maintenance records and logs
- Support project planning and execution for system improvements
- Uphold Health & Safety standards and contribute to a safe working environment
- Mentor or assist junior staff/apprentices as required
- NVQ Level 3 / BTEC / ONC or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- Previous experience in facilities or estate maintenance preferred
- Mechanical engineering experience (pumps, HVAC, boilers, etc.)
- 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations
- HVAC qualifications are highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- A proactive, can-do attitude and a team-player mindset
- Excellent working hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Occasional weekends with time off in lieu)
