About the Role:
We are currently recruiting a Storekeeper to join the busy Procurement team within a police force. This position arises due to the impending retirement of a key team member and increased departmental workload. The role plays a critical part in ensuring police officers are equipped with the essential operational kit, including uniforms, protective equipment, and other vital supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unpack deliveries, handling incoming goods accurately
- Manage stock levels using internal inventory systems
- Book out stock to officers at the service counter in a courteous and professional manner
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively
- Assist with internal distribution across a multi-site operation
- Provide specialist product knowledge and fitting guidance (e.g., body armour)
- Maintain records and ensure inventory transactions are logged correctly using MS Office and Agresso
- Comply with Force financial procedures, procurement principles, and audit requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Experience in a stores or logistics environment (multi-site preferred)
- Knowledge of stock control systems
- Competent in MS Office and general IT systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Customer-focused with good communication skills
- Ability to perform manual handling duties and operate warehouse equipment
- Forklift licence desirable but not essential
