THE ROLE
- Support a caseload of properties and tenants, helping individuals maintain their tenancies while ensuring housing standards and compliance are upheld.
- Support tenants with housing benefit claims and tenancy sustainment.
- Conduct risk assessments and determine eligibility for service users.
- Sign up new tenancies and explain obligations clearly to tenants.
- Report and follow up on property repairs, ensuring health & safety compliance.
- Order and coordinate delivery of essential furniture and equipment.
- Maintain rent collection levels and manage arrears in line with policy.
- Build strong community links with neighbours, landlords, and local partners.
THE CANDIDATE
- Previous experience in a similar role such as Housing Officer, with a strong background in tenancy and property management.
- Proven experience in managing tenancies and liaising with vulnerable tenants.
- Knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy law, and rent arrears procedures.
- Confident in carrying out property health and safety checks.
- Skilled in managing anti-social behaviour within a housing setting.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload across locations.
THE CONTRACT
- Working hours – 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (40 working hours, 35 paid, 5 hours lunch unpaid).
- Travel Requirements – Frequent travel across Rotherham and surrounding areas; full UK driving licence, own vehicle and business insurance required.
- Working: Hybrid – Mandatory office day on Wednesdays in Derby, remaining days in the community.
- 3 Month Contract, Temp to Perm.
- The pay for the role is £18.56 per hour LTD. The PAYE equivalent is £15.93 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
