Pre Construction Manager

ROLE: Preconstruction Manager – Flooring LOCATION: Near Epping, Essex – Office Based with potential 1 day WFH SALARY: £40,000 – £50,000 THE COMPANY A leading contracting business are looking for a Preconstruction Manager to join their Preconstruction team in Essex. You will be working for one of the UK’s leading contractors and specialists in their field. Extensive flooring experience is a must. There is no parking onsite but free parking with a 10 minute walk, or cheap paid parking 5 minutes from the office. The role is mainly office based with the addition of 1 day WFH after probation period. You may also be required to complete site visits across London and the South East. THE JOB As Preconstruction Manager you’ll report to the Director of Preconstruction, you will coordinate and manage preconstruction activity across multiple projects to ensure smooth handover to operations. You’ll work closely with estimators, sales, design teams, and site teams to ensure all project documentation, materials, and client expectations are aligned and delivered efficiently. Key Responsibilities: * Review full project handovers from the Estimator/Sales team * Verify tender information against construction issue documents and highlight any discrepancies * Upload documentation and respond to issues via client portals * Attend and contribute to design meetings and clarify outstanding queries * Prepare and issue detailed Sample/Build Schedules including product types, build-ups, and lead times * Place orders for main flooring materials and prepare internal “shopping lists” * Support with variation pricing and documentation during preconstruction * Maintain internal trackers and ensure up-to-date project status * Complete the Preconstruction section of the Master Project Form (MPF) * Deliver structured handovers to the Production team * Attend weekly team meetings and manage workload to meet deadlines WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR * Previous experience in a Preconstruction or similar role * Ideally from a flooring or fit-out background * Familiarity with Callidus quantification software and Microsoft Office (preferred but not essential) * Excellent time management and communication skills * Strong understanding of construction workflows and estimation principles If you are interested in this opportunity hit “apply” or contact Craig Humphrey at Xenon Recruitment today!
