In-house Employment Counsel

4+ PQE

South Coast - 2 days a week in the office

Employment focus

SSQ are delighted to be partnered with a major employer on the South Coast to secure them a new, additional senior employment counsel. This position will manage senior employment queries and have responsibilities across policy, mentoring and all other commercial employment legal queries. This position is suited to someone 4 - 7 PQE based in the South West.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal guidance and strategic vision in managing employment legal issues.
  • Carry out a wide range of legal work and provide advice and guidance, as well as negotiate and resolve disputes.
  • Responsibility for line management and mentoring of a trainee solicitor or apprentice solicitor within the legal team.
  • Management of all employment contracts including employment contracts, pay disputes, termination and cessation of employment, TUPE issues and oversight of Employment Tribunals.

Application Criteria:

  • A qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience in dealing with varied caseloads with minimal supervision.
  • Management of significant employment case-loads effectively.
  • Will accept applications from those with in-house or private practice experience.
