Job Description: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of our construction projects. This is a permanent role that includes both surveying and some procurement duties. You will be working on exciting projects within a motivated commercial team to ensure projects are completed within budget and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for commercial new build projects.
- Manage and administer construction contracts.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Prepare and submit regular financial reports.
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure the best prices.
- Assess and manage project risks.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure project success.
- Perform buying duties, including sourcing and purchasing materials and services.
Requirements:
- Commercial experience and a Surveying qualification would be ideal.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, project management tools).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
