About Our Client: Our client is one of the county's most respected main contractors, specializing in sectors including new homes, commercial build, education, office, leisure, sports and retail. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality, innovative solutions to our clients' needs.

Job Description: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of our construction projects. This is a permanent role that includes both surveying and some procurement duties. You will be working on exciting projects within a motivated commercial team to ensure projects are completed within budget and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for commercial new build projects.
  • Manage and administer construction contracts.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Prepare and submit regular financial reports.
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure the best prices.
  • Assess and manage project risks.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure project success.
  • Perform buying duties, including sourcing and purchasing materials and services.

Requirements:

  • Commercial experience and a Surveying qualification would be ideal.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, project management tools).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
