Our friendly team at Meallmore is looking for a Second Chef to be part of the team in St Modans Care Home. St Modans is a purpose-built nursing home in Fraserburgh, providing high-quality personalized care for elderly people, including those living with dementia. It also has a separate specialist unit for people with acquired brain injuries.
Our mentorship programme and ongoing learning and development will give you all the support you need to develop your skills and progress in your career.
Your role as a Meallmore Cook will include:
- Assist the Head Chef to plan, prepare, and cook meals according to dietary requirements and preferences of our residents.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless food service and resident satisfaction.
- Stay updated with industry trends and introduce innovative ideas to enhance the dining experience.
- Adhere to food budget guidelines and assist in minimizing waste.
Skills and Requirements:
- Knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements, and food allergies is desirable.
- Strong culinary skills and creativity to prepare appetizing meals.
- Proficiency in food safety practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
