Hours: £10.90 per hour

Do you have a commitment to making a difference in women’s lives? Are you passionate about supporting women in a holistic, women-centred, trauma-informed way? Many women who experience domestic abuse and accompanying complex needs, such as substance misuse, mental health issues, and involvement with the criminal justice system, require safe and supportive housing that caters to their needs.

The Nelson Trust is running a small residential safe space accommodation unit for women. We are seeking a passionate, women-focused professional to lead the project, ensuring staff coverage that guarantees the safety of residents and the building, as well as providing support to clients as necessary during your shift.

As a bank support worker, you will ensure the project is adequately covered during your working hours, maintaining the safety of women residents and the premises, and offering support as required. The project supports women with complex needs, including substance misuse, emotional wellbeing, offending behaviours, and mental health issues. The team works closely with each resident from the beginning of their stay to their eventual positive move to settled and long-term accommodation.

Note: Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres, this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1).
