Role: Customs Clerk

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire

Salary: 30,000 – 35,000

Shift: Mon – Fri (Hybrid Working)

On the lookout for an experienced Customs Clerk to join our industry leading client in Luton. This role involves handling Road Freight Customs Clearance from start to finish. The ideal candidate will ensure all shipments comply with UK and international customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process import and export customs declarations for Road freight.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and customs requirements.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and government agencies.
• Manage customs documentation and duty/VAT calculations.
• Provide customer updates and resolve customs-related queries.

Key Requirements

• Previous experience as a Customs Clerk in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of Road freight
• Proficiency with customs systems, in particular CDS, Destin8, Descartes
• Understanding of commodity codes, duties, VAT, and trade agreements.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
