We are currently seeking an experienced Bakery Production Team Leader to join our Desserts and Cake Bakery team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is self-motivated, dependable, and confident in leading a team within a fast-paced food production environment.

The role is full-time, working 39 hours per week across 5 days, with shift patterns primarily during the day. Some weekend availability may be required during seasonal peaks or busier periods.

Production Team Leader Responsibilities:

As a Bakery Production Team Leader in the bakery, you will play a key role in leading the production of high-quality cakes and desserts. You will support the daily running of the bakery floor, working alongside your team and ensuring that production targets and quality standards are consistently met.

Key duties include:
  • Leading and motivating a small production team during shifts
  • Assisting in the preparation and baking of a wide range of dessert and cake products
  • Managing workflow in accordance with the daily production plan
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
  • Completing legal documentation and production records with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Preparing daily production sheets and maintaining clear communication with other departments
  • Labelling and packing goods for freezer storage
  • Monitoring stock levels and supporting 100% product availability
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant working environment
Production Team Leader Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery
  • Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or 3
  • Previous experience in a bakery, patisserie, or dessert manufacturing setting is desirable
  • Good computer literacy and confidence with documentation and basic data entry
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
