CNC Miller - Days

Overview Adept Resourcing are working on behalf of our client in Oldham who are looking to recruit a skilled CNC Horizontal Borer Setter/Operator/Programmer to join their precision engineering team. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC horizontal boring and milling machines, particularly using Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Siemens control systems. This role will involve machining medium to heavy components to exacting standards in line with customer specifications. Key Responsibilities Setting, operating, and programming CNC horizontal boring and milling machines with Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Siemens controls Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications Machining precision components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards Performing self-inspection to ensure work meets required specifications Maintaining tooling and ensuring machines are set correctly for efficient production Ensuring a clean and safe working environment in line with company procedures Working flexibly, including overtime when required to meet production schedules Requirements Proven experience in setting, operating, and programming CNC horizontal boring and milling machines Proficiency with Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Siemens control systems Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings Previous experience machining medium to heavy work pieces Strong attention to detail with the ability to self-check work Willingness to work overtime when necessary Desirable Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualifications Experience in a subcontract or high precision manufacturing environment Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement What\’s on Offer Competitive pay rates with overtime opportunities Long-term stability in a growing engineering business Ongoing training and development opportunities Supportive working environment with a focus on quality and precision Working Hours Shift: Fixed day shift Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30 (30-minute unpaid lunch break) Friday: 08:00 – 13:00 (no lunch break) Overtime: Minimum of 11 hours per week expected, paid at: Weekdays: Time + 1/3 Sundays: Time + 1/2 At Adept Resourcing – Commercial & Engineering, we specialise in connecting companies with top talent that drives innovation, growth and success.
