SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant required to work with a KS1 & KS2 SEN children in the alternative provision of a Romford School. Experience and knowledge of working with Challenging Behaviour, Autism, Pre Verbal & Non Verbal would be an advantage. To Start : September 2025 Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 3.30pm (Term time only with additional holiday pay) This is an opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant ,Youth Worker or Psychology graduate to make a real difference to their young lives. Special Needs Teaching Assistant Role & Qualification: * To support a mixed age range of SEN students with Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Pre Verbal & Non Verbal. * Managing the student’s behaviour and employing de-escalation skills when required. * Able to identify & manage triggers and traits. * To work as a team alongside the class teacher with the students learning and development within the classroom. * Positive Handling Trained (i.e Team Teach) would ideally be essential or be prepared to be trained in this area. * Youth worker background or supporting children within the care sector. * L2/L3 Teaching Assistant, Care or SEND qualification.
